Cooking with Cain 2.5 is here! Many improvements have been made to the last release of the game.  We spent the last 10 weeks polishing, redesigning, and fixing Cooking with Cain 2.

For those that don't know Cooking with Cain, it is a game where you can roam in 3 different levels to find loot, defeat enemies, and explore Hell. You must stop the evil Bruffel Sprouts from taking over the Underworld.

Cain must defeat food demons, by combining his twisted ingredients to form attacks. Additionally, through gathering more gold, he can upgrade the quality of his ingredients, or choose to buy some new ones from the shop.

Features:

  • A top-down Overworld where enemies can be encountered and fought in turn-based combat.
  • Many ingredients to choose from and cater to different battles.
  • A shop system wherein players can purchase upgrades for their stats and ingredients as well as new ingredients and potions.
  • 3 Levels to explore and conquer.
  • A Hubworld to hang your chef's hat when you need that rest.
  • Many enemies to defeat.

This game has come a long way, and seeing it develop has been really cool. As always, the combat is neat, and the overworld has been getting more interesting in each iteration as well.

I would say that the character progression feels really good as it gets better, but I kind of expect sort of like a level system over buying upgrades at the store. Moreover, I will say that at times it was confusing as to what I was supposed to be doing or how to progress further into the game.

Nevertheless, this is a cool experience, and all of you have done a great job!
